In my experience as both a paediatric dietician and a mother, I feel that the best way to improve the health of our children is to teach them to enjoy their food!
I am committed to improving the availability and affordability of good quality ingredients. I want to help improve the standards of cooking in this country so that all parents know how to prepare and provide a well-balanced diet for their children.
Most of all, I want to see parents and children enjoying mealtimes together. Parents are so important in setting a good example to their children, by teaching them to enjoy their food and to enjoy all the different flavours we can get from a varied diet.
I am also on a few, personal crusades such as improving the Vitamin D levels of everybody in this country, increasing the rate of breastfeeding in our hospitals, and combating the causes of childhood obesity. For more on this see my nutritional advice or read some of my recent articles.
